Hebron is a West Bank town located about 20km south of Jerusalem. In the Israeli-Palestinian context, the city is the theater of important religious and political tensions.
The city was separated into two areas in 1997: H1 under Palestinian administration and H2 under Israeli administration (the old town and Jewish settlements). All my photos were taken in the H2 area. Suhada street, the main shopping street, is deserted. In the old city, where jewish neighborhoods are located, army and border police have set up many checkpoints. The adjacent Jewish settlements in the old city are inhabited by ultra-zionist settlers; safety nets were installed to protect the inhabitants from stones and other objects being thrown.
